Which Sound From Your Speaker Is Best?

When we are discussing Tone from an amplifier, it’s important to understand that it is a spectrum and not a single point, for example exactly where you sit will determine the kind of frequencies you are receiving from the speaker and the room. Another classic Chappers and the Captain video had Andertons where we tested a couple of different speakers inside the same amplifier. 

MIKU Destroys All

I’m not sure Who thought this was a good idea, but it was either Chappers or the Captain at Andertons that one classic time when they connected roughly 50 effects pedals together to see what it would sound like. Of course the Miku totally destroyed them all with its meow!! Ha ha 

Ancient Guitar Buying Wisdom 

15 years ago I had some advice for anyone looking to purchase a Guitar from a physical store. I still stand by this advice, it’s important to be brave and just play the guitar as naturally as possible so that you can really get a feel for whether it works for you after all you are spending your money. 

Can Chappers Play With 2MM of WHAT?

Chappers and the Captain at Anderton’s putting a whole bunch of Guitar pics through their paces every kind of conceivable material including 2 mm of felt which Robe discovered was particularly difficult to play with!

Does Hand Wired REALLY Make Any Difference? 

Does it really make any difference? Whether an amplifier is hand wired or PCB, in my opinion? It does not make any difference to the Sound but it does make a difference to how easy it is to repair the amplifier. For example the component choice is exactly the same it would make more difference if you altered the Tone settings by even 2%.

Advanced Finger Tapping Exercise

This is a finger tapping exercise that I used to practice quite a lot about 15 years ago. It’s useful for moving through chords and adding some melodic Arppegiated phrases over progressions. I was using an ESP horizon plugged into a Bogner amplifier

My New Guitar From The Himalayas Is Ridiculous!

My new guitar came all the way from Kathmandu, Nepal 🇳🇵 This is the Sahana Whochill, handmade by Sahana Guitars in the Himalayas. I’ve actually owned this guitar since last year, but somehow never got around to giving it the proper demonstration it deserves — so today we’re fixing that! This is my third Sahana guitar, and there’s something genuinely special about what these guys are building. Beautiful instruments, unusual designs and a story you simply don’t get from a mass-produced guitar. There’s also a particularly good reason to support Sahana at the moment. Following the recent disaster in Nepal, Sahana are donating a percentage of their profits to help those affected. That isn’t why I made this video or why I love their guitars, but I wanted to make sure you knew about the good work they’re doing. How Much AI Is Too Much AI?

How much AI is too much AI? AI is becoming part of almost every creative industry — including YouTube. From thumbnail design and image enhancement to editing tools, audio processing and idea generation, the line between “using a tool” and “creating something artificial” is becoming increasingly difficult to define. Recently, one of my thumbnails sparked some criticism because AI had been used in the process. And it got me thinking: where should that line actually be? As an independent creator, I’ve always used whatever tools are available to help me make better videos — cameras that automatically process images, editing software, Photoshop, plugins and now AI. But I also completely understand why people are uncomfortable when those tools begin changing reality rather than simply enhancing it. So rather than pretending there’s an obvious answer, I wanted to open the conversation. When does AI become too much? Is enhancing a photograph okay? What about generating part of a thumbnail? Should AI-generated music or video be treated differently? And does it matter whether the creator is transparent about using it? I’m genuinely interested to hear where you draw the line. 18 years ago I was lucky enough to acquire an orange amplifiers tiny terror Little did I know how loud the class say valve amplifier can be the results to say the least was slightly shocking. It absolutely rocked, especially with my custom Fender Strat, one that I had acquired through my work with EMI records back in the day on a session for Yngwie Malmsteen.
