You've Got to Hide Your Love Away by The Beatles - Acoustic Guitar Classics

Learn how to play songs faster with our interactive practice tool inside the Guitareo members’ area. Start your 7-day free trial by heading to https://ift.tt/nVQetdm In this lesson, Ayla Tesler-Mabe teaches You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away by The Beatles. This acoustic classic was written by John Lennon (though credited to Lennon/McCartney) and was inspired by the works of Bob Dylan. If you want to get the exact feel of the original recording, you’ll need a 12-string guitar. You’ll also notice when playing along to the track that things sound a little out of tune. That’s because the track is actually a little bit flatter than standard tuning. After only been playing for two years, her first YouTube video (a rendition of John Mayall’s “Hideaway”) put her on the map and kickstarted her music career. She has since been featured in Rolling Stone magazine, become a member of the Ernie Ball and Fender family of artists, and earned various Berklee College of Music scholarships. Musically, Ayla finds great pleasure in exploring the numerous avenues available to her through various styles of music, as seen through her work with Calpurnia and Ludic. Learn these riffs even faster with our interactive practice tool inside the Guitareo members’ area. Start your 7-day free trial here: https://ift.tt/bhaEIQA Father’s Day is right around the corner and that can only mean one thing: Dad rock. Now, dad rock can mean a few different things, but ultimately, it’s the rock music that makes up your dad’s old record collection. It’s important to note that this music isn’t exclusively consumed by dads, as the genre contains some of the most iconic classic rock songs of all time. So in this lesson, Ayla (not a dad) will show you how to play six of her favorite dad rock riffs from the 1970s. There are a ton of incredible dad rock riffs out there, but the six riffs we’ll be looking at in this video are “All Right Now” by Free, “Life In The Fast Lane” by the Eagles, “China Grove” by The Doobie Brothers, “Jet Airliner” by the Steve Miller Band, “Highway To Hell” by AC/DC, and “La Grange” by ZZ Top. Creating Jazz Melodies - Week 11 - Manipulating the V Chord

The more tunes you play, the more knowledge you tend to understand playing over chord changes. In this lesson we will look at two different ways on how to give you that “outside” or “modern” sound when playing over changes. Specifically the V chord of the “parent key” of any tune. As we discussed before with Tritone substitution and the use of the melodic minor scale, let’s have a look at using these techniques to enhance our harmonic vocabulary in jazz.
