6 Levels To Playing GREAT Guitar Solos!

Unlock 9 New Guitar Skills (FREE)►https://ift.tt/377u9r1 Ayla's favorite music products ►https://bit.ly/3a3ilae Download the chord chart ►https://ift.tt/2PBsns7 0:00 - Intro Are you ready to take your guitar skills to the next level? You’ll feel more comfortable improvising on the guitar and create some pretty cool licks. 1:10 - Level 1 In this lesson, we'll be centering around a 12-bar blues in the key of A. The pentatonic scale is always a great place to begin because you’ll get the most mileage out of it! 4:34 - Level 2 building a vocabulary of licks you can find online or in songs you listen to and implement them into your playing. They inspire you to find your sound. 8:59 - Level 3 Trust your ear and try exploring notes outside of the scale. If they sound good to you, then they’re probably good! 13:15 - Level 4 By following along the 12-bar blues with arpeggios, you can know which notes to play along with the chord changes. This is your way of outlining all the chord tones in your playing. 16:09 - Level 5 Start linking in those “weird” sounding notes. They’re the ones that build tension in the song and add emotion (and sound a little jazzy!) 19:41 - Level 6 Out of all the levels, THIS is the most important step. Adding techniques like vibrato, sliding, and bends is the best way to add the most emotion to your playing. Whenever you do the on-and-off exercise, make sure the chord you're playing still sounds how it should. 5:05 - Tip #5 Isolate two chords at a time. Try with the two most difficult chords you know! 7:07 - Tip #6 Always think ahead of what your next chord change is going to be. 8:20 - Tip #7 Start on the root note of the chord when switching to buy some time for the rest of your fingers to fall into place. 8:54 - Tip #8 Sometimes there are common tones between chords and you can find anchor points. 9:41 - Tip #9 Practice without looking at your fretting hand. 13:03 - Tip #10 Start by playing power chords but slowly replace them with bar chords until you're comfortable playing only bar chords. Playing Guitar Left-Handed | Song In An Hour Challenge

Play your first song on the guitar in ONE HOUR: ► https://ift.tt/3gi95TM Ayla's favorite music products: ►https://bit.ly/3a3ilae 0:00 - Intro Ayla takes on Rob Scallon's Song In An Hour Challenge! But to simulate being a beginner, she plays the guitar left-handed! 0:53 - Accepting the challenge Rob scheduled a gig, but the guitarist didn't show. So it's up to Ayla to learn the song and play the show! 2:21 - Holding the guitar There's a bunch of different ways to hold the guitar, so make you hold the guitar in a way that feels relaxed for you and doesn’t hinder you from playing. 3:29 - Holding the pick Holding the pick is also subjective but what works for most people is by placing your thumb on one side and two fingers on the other at an angle. 6:57 - Strumming the guitar Strumming the pick parallel to the strings requires more effort. So try strumming with the pick at a bit of an angle! 9:54 - Guitar tabs Guitar tab is the guitar shorthand and you'll learn how to communicate with tab. 12:11 - The first guitar chord Next, Ayla moves on to the easiest and "greatest" guitar chord, the G chord. 14:45 - Thumb placement If you’re unable to reach a string with your finger or your hand feels tense, try adjusting the placement of your thumb. 17:22 - Practicing for the show Fingers are hurting now...but Ayla will learn the second chord to the song in this challenge. 18:35 - Switching fingers Adding another finger and lifting it on and off is a good way to switch between these two chords. 19:32 - Practicing the chords in time Before she plays the show, Ayla practices the two chords in time with the backing track. 23:40 - Playing the show Time for Ayla to finally jam with Rob Scallon and the rest of the band! You’ve Been Practicing The Pentatonic Scale on Guitar WRONG!

Unlock 9 New Guitar Skills (FREE): ►https://ift.tt/377u9r1 Download the scale chart here: ►https://ift.tt/3s5QGvq 0:00 - Intro There's no "right" way to approaching the pentatonic scale. But there is an easy way where you only have to learn two positions of the scale and still unlock the fretboard of the guitar. 1:26 - Trick #1 - Know The Root Note The key to fully understanding the guitar is locating the root note of the scale. 3:12 - Trick #2 - Add Musical Context Play over a backing track and try experimenting with how you play the scale. You'll find melodies from changing the order or phrasing of the scale. 5:12 - Trick #3 - Master One Part Of The Neck Start with mastering ONE part of the neck to keep it simple and accessible. So when you hear a lick, you know where to find it. 7:46 - 4th Position Pentatonic Scale You can also call it the A string root Pentatonic shape. This is when you can start to add new colors and notes. 9:46 - Transposing The Pentatonic Scale When you know the regions of the neck really well, you'll be able to find and move up the octave and play the same shape. Now the whole fretboard is covered! 10:53 - Next Steps Remember root notes and learn your intervals! 12:30 - Performance Now we'll put everything we learned into one guitar jam. What Makes These Guitar Intros So Iconic?

Unlock 9 New Guitar Skills (FREE): ►https://ift.tt/377u9r1 Download the tab sheets here: ►https://ift.tt/3wv2ISP 0:00 - Intro What makes a guitar intro so memorable that even a song over fifty years old is recognized instantly? Let's find out! 0:40 - Guitar Intro # 1 - Johnny B. Goode This iconic song is in a blues setting and is an expert for mixing the major and minor pentatonic sound. It starts on a major pentatonic note then switches to minor. 4:48 - Guitar Intro #2 - The Thrill Is Gone Feeling is important with this intro. B.B. King was known for putting a lot of emotion into his guitar playing, even in the simplest riffs. This particular intro is in B Minor pentatonic. 7:56 - Guitar Intro #3 - Soulshine Similar to Johnny B. Goode, it starts on the minor pentatonic notes and slides up to major. The opening line of the song is repeated but raised an octave to increase the emotion and build of the song. 11:48 - Guitar Intro #4 - Black Magic Woman Santana added a lot of Latin flavor to the groove and note choices of the song's intro. By combining blues and early rock elements with the Latin flavor, it was new and not something people were used to hearing at the time.
