Play Songs With Perfect Timing - Campfire Guitarist Quick-Start Series #2

Get my FREE Beginner Guitar Starter Kit! ►https://goo.gl/Ts2uU6 If you’re serious about playing the guitar, timing is one of the most important skills you need to develop. This is especially the case when you’re playing guitar while you’re sitting around the campfire with a bunch of people singing along. As the captain of the ship, you’re dictating where everyone is going with your playing. In this lesson, Nate Savage will take you through some important exercises to help you develop great timing when you play your favorite songs. Primarily, you’ll be focusing on using quarter-note and eighth-note strumming patterns along with an important guitar accessory: a metronome. Timing can take a long time to develop so don’t feel like you need to be perfect overnight. Add some guitar timing exercises to your daily practice routine and you’ll find yourself building a stronger internal sense of timing almost immediately. How To Play Guitar Solos WITHOUT A Pick - Beginner Guitar Lesson

Get the FREE Beginner Guitar Starter Kit! ►https://goo.gl/Ts2uU6 When you think about guitar solos, you probably imagine guitarists ripping it up with a pick in their hand. But some of the greatest lead guitar players abandon the pick altogether and just use their fingers. So in this lesson, Andrew Clarke is here to talk about how you can play guitar solos without using a guitar pick by looking at John Mayer and Derek Trucks. Throughout this guitar lesson, you’ll learn about proper hand positioning for fingerpicking, the difference between using your fingernails and the pads of your fingers, how to mute the strings with both hands, flicking technique, and how to fatten notes using adjacent strings. These techniques aren’t easy to pull off, so you may need to take your time with this lesson. At the end of the day, it’s all about developing your style and unique voice on the guitar. Don’t feel like you need to steal everything you learn in this lesson. Just use what sounds good to you. The Ultimate Blues Guitar Solo Exercise

Get the FREE Beginner Guitar Starter Kit! ►https://goo.gl/Ts2uU6 Download the MP3 Jam Tracks here: ►https://ift.tt/2ybep3M The great thing about playing the blues is that it’s so easy to get into. Learn a quick scale shape and a few techniques and you can jump right into playing some great music. Unfortunately, that’s also the problem… A lot of blues guitarists stop there and end up stuck in a rut with their blues guitar solos. So in this lesson, we’ll look at a great trick for getting out of it! To start, we’ll take a look at the standard 12-bar blues progression. This is the foundation for everything you play. We’ll be playing in the key of “A Blues”, so our progression will be A, D, and E. With the first jam track, we’ll only be playing over the “1 chord” which is an A. Progressively, we’ll add more chords to the track. To do this, we’ll be using the standard blues scale shape. This is a shape you’ll really want to spend time with. It’s a great “home-base” for your guitar solos. Many great blues players over the decades have built entire careers around this shape alone. As you go through each variation of the track, your main goal will be to play the root note of each passing chord. Just doing this will help give your solos structure and do a better job of implying the chord you’re playing over. Add this to your daily practice routine and you’ll notice your solos will improve dramatically in just a few weeks! Follow us! ►Facebook: https://ift.tt/2xExBWI ►Instagram: https://ift.tt/2xyF61r

5 Guitarists, 1 Tab - The Hard Truth About Guitar Tabs

Get the FREE Beginner Guitar Starter Kit! ►https://goo.gl/Ts2uU6 Guitar Tabs are one of the huge advantages guitar players have over other musicians. Tabs are an “easy to grasp” way to learn a new song or lick. And you don’t need to learn to read sheet music which can feel like you’re learning a whole new language. It might seem like it’s all positives, but there are some big drawbacks with Tabs that we’ll talk about in this lesson. To illustrate this problem, we’ve asked five different guitarists to interpret the same piece of Tab. Think they’ll play it the same? Watch the video to see what happens. The important thing to take away from this experiment is the importance of knowing how to learn by ear. So Nate Savage will give you a few useful exercises you can add to your practice time to develop your ear and become a more well-rounded guitar player. Who knows, maybe you’ll stop using Tabs altogether and rely solely on your ear like many of the pros! $75 Guitar + $600 Upgrades. Is it worth it?

Get the FREE Beginner Guitar Starter Kit! ►https://goo.gl/Ts2uU6 Have you ever wondered if it’s worth upgrading your current guitar instead of buying a new one? Upgrading your guitar can be a great way to get a lot more guitar for your money. And it’ll even help curb your G.A.S. (Gear Acquisition Syndrome). In this video, we’ll take a Squier Stratocaster we picked up for $75 used and upgrade it with $600 worth of parts. We will be replacing the pickups, tuners, saddles, string trees, nut, strap buttons, 5-way switch, volume and tone pots, and the pickguard. Once we’re finished with it, this guitar should feel and sound like a guitar twice its price. The guitar we’ll be comparing our newly upgraded Strat to is an American-made Fender Stratocaster worth about $1200. Hopefully, this video will help you make a more informed decision when you’re ready to get a new electric guitar. How To Make Your Cheap Guitar Amp Sound Amazing

Get the FREE Beginner Guitar Starter Kit! ►https://goo.gl/Ts2uU6 Amps used: Fender Frontman 10G, Peavey Rage 158, Line 6 Spider IV 15 At some point in your guitar playing career, you’ll likely acquire an affordable (or cheap) guitar amp. Sadly, you might notice that your first experience with your new amplifier is a little unsatisfactory. But while these cheaper amps aren’t going to sound like something worth thousands of dollars, there are a few things you can do to make them sound amazing for the price! All amps are a little bit different, but the main things you’ll be dealing with are the EQ and the amount of Gain or Distortion. Learning how to dial in the EQ and set the appropriate amount of gain for your playing style is the most important aspect to nailing down a great guitar tone. Remember, almost every amp has a sweet spot. Take your time, fiddle with those knobs, follow the tips in this lesson, and you’ll get your cheap guitar amplifier sounding a lot better. Even a $50 solid-state amp can sound better than a $500 tube amp if you know how to get the thing dialed in just right! 20 Ways To Play The Same Guitar Chord

Get the free chord chart here: ►https://ift.tt/2FWDGTG Get the FREE Beginner Guitar Starter Kit! ►https://goo.gl/Ts2uU6 Have you ever seen a guitar player play something and thought “what kind of crazy shapes are they playing”? Well in this video, Nate Savage is here to show you twenty different ways to play the same chord. This is a great way to shake up your playing and give you the tools you need to play more interesting variations of the chords you already know. One of the huge benefits of these new shapes is something you’ll notice when you’re playing with another guitarist. Instead of being stuck playing the exact same thing as the other player, you can now play a different version of the exact same chord. This immediately sounds a lot better since you’ll be playing two distinct parts designed to fit together in harmony. Don’t feel like you need to grasp every single shape in this lesson right away. Grab a few and work on them until you know them as well as your other chord shapes. Every time you master one, add another. Before you know it, you’ll have all twenty shapes in your back pocket!
