Country Artist TELANDER Covers "Somewhere I Belong" On The Spot (Ft. Chris Williamson)

What happens when a folk-leaning singer-songwriter steps into the studio with a group of session musicians and has just one day to reimagine a 2000s rock anthem? In this episode of Covers, Zack Telander takes on Linkin Park’s “Somewhere I Belong” in a session that strips the song down to its bones. In a room full of collaborators he’s never played with before, Zack leans into vulnerability, quick decision making, and instinct... transforming a nu-metal classic into an acoustic tribute to Chester Bennington. The session morphs into a conversation about imposter syndrome, collaboration, and why making music together is still one of the most meaningful things musicians can do for their craft. Oh yeah, and Chris Williamson picked the song. What We Learned Covering the Beach Boys #musora #covet #thebeachboys

In this episode of Covers On The Spot, Covet is challenged to reinterpret “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” on the spot. As the creative force behind one of modern music’s most expressive and genre-defying bands, Covet strips the song down to its emotional core and rebuilds it through texture, feel, and shoegazey atmosphere, transforming a harmonically complex, deceptively difficult pop masterpiece into something entirely new. In a surreal bit of cosmic symmetry, the original Pet Sounds album was recorded just down the hall in Studio 1, and, much like Brian Wilson’s dog Banana famously wandering the studio during those sessions, Yvette’s dog Bub just happened to be there that day too. Special thanks to Bub for his production assistance.
